Nirmalya Trust

Utilization of Funds

We are requesting financial support for COVID relief work, which we plan to provide in the following ways:

A. Purchase and distribution of groceries to the needy.

B. Financial support to the people working in our units (present as well as past beneficiaries) to enable them to buy groceries.

C. Payment of tiffin (dabba) charges for an orthopedically challenged candidate.

Proposal:

A. Distribution of groceries to the needy: – To provide food support (groceries) to persons with disabilities, patients, the elderly, and others in dire need. – The following geographical areas will be covered: Pune, some villages in the Konkan region, Parner taluka in Ahmednagar district, and some areas in Aurangabad. – The groceries will be door delivered by our team of volunteers in the respective areas. – They will purchase the groceries from the store nearest to them, and deliver them to the beneficiaries. – Many beneficiaries cannot travel long distances or carry the weight of the groceries. Lots of people are very hesitant to step out at this time, given how bad the situation is, with Covid-19 presently. The lockdown and lack of transportation make it prohibitive too. – 1 grocery kit of Rs. 1000/- will sustain a family for one month. – From the donation we receive, Nirmalya Trust will use 5 % for administrative expenses and 5 % for packing material, conveyance, transport, and reimbursing the volunteers for any expenses incurred.

B. Financial support to the people working in our own units, as well as our past beneficiaries. – To give financial support (Rs. 1000/-) by means of online transfer (IMPS/NEFT), to support the people who are working at our own units, as well as those who have lost their jobs during the pandemic. These are persons, both, with, or without disabilities, since we’ve always had an integrated team working at our units. – This aid will enable them to purchase groceries and sustain their families through this difficult period.

C. Payment of tiffin charges for a challenged candidate: One of our challenged candidates and team member, Santosh, who is orthopedically challenged, needs to be supported with his tiffin fees. The tiffin costs him Rs. 2500 per month (for two meals a day) i.e. Rs. 30,000/- for the year. Past Success: – Nirmalya Trust reached 4000 persons last year through our network of dedicated volunteers. They covered long distances and overcame innumerable hurdles, one after the other. One such hurdle was the Nisarga cyclone which hit the Konkan coastline last year, in the middle of the lockdown. – The ISB Alumni Association had come forward and supported us in our efforts last year. We are deeply grateful for that. The impact that we will have now: – We wish to reach out to the needy at this extremely difficult time. – We will help these individuals and families to survive.
