The ISB Alumni Association (ISBAA) was formalized as a legal entity (registered society) under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act., 2001(Act No. 35 of 2001) in 2012, after several years of running as an informal entity focused largely on the social networking needs of the alumni.

As per the bye-laws Chapter-I, Section 5, “All ‘Alumni’ shall be eligible to be the members of the Association on payment of fee during admission to ISB”. The current members of the Association include PGP, PGPMAX, PGP MFAB and PGPpro alumni who have graduated as on July 06, 2023

In addition to the Senate, the ISB Alumni Association consists of 14 chapters, out of which 9 are based in India and 7 are based overseas. The national chapters operate in all the major metropolitan cities of India and the international chapters are spread over four continents.

The Chapter Leadership plays a critical role in engaging alumni within the chapters through multiple activities including networking events, lifelong learning sessions, Industry talks etc

The Chapters which consists of Alumni members up to 300 are classified as Small Chapters and Chapters having more than 300 Alumni members are classified as Large Chapters, following is the list of large and small chapters

Chapter Elections are conducted to identify chapter leadership for individual chapters. Chapter Leadership consists of the following:

2. Chapter Leader
3. Chapter Leader – PGPPRO (Reserved)
4. Chapter Leader – PGPMAX (Reserved))
5. Chapter Leader – PGPMFAB (Reserved)
6. Upto 10 Chapter Leader (For larger chapters)

The tenure of Chapter Leadership roles is for 2 years. However, if any member moves out of the chapter or is not willing to support the Chapter activities due to various reasons, a member should send formal communication to the President and ISBAA.  A replacement can be added by the President or Chapter Lead agreed by majority of chapter leadership members and ISBAA. 

1. Develop & execute a diverse, exciting calendar of events/activities

a. Networking events: Formal/Informal networking events to be planned and executed by respective chapters including managing registrations, identifying venues, coordinating logistics and collecting feedback with the supp. These would include Global ISB Alumni Day and Welcome Events.

b. Support for SIG events

c. Support for School events (as and when required)

 2. Communication/Strategy inputs

a. Maintain a communication groups within the Chapter to maximize the reach/participation

b. Help the Senate develop and hone the strategy to make the alumni network more effective

3. Budgeting and governance

a. Update ISBAA and maintain initiatives/events conducted during the year for the Scorecard

b. Maintain chapter budgets

The President, in addition to these, is the defacto single point of contact for the ISBAA. She / He shall also be responsible for overall chapter activities.

The ISBAA office will be conducting the elections under the guidance of ISBAA Senate. Further, Mr. R. Ramakrishna Gupta, Practicing Company Secretary at R&A Associates is appointed as the scrutinizer for these Chapter Elections 2024.

The Election Process has the following 3 Stages:

Pre-election process:

  • A platform “Electionbuddy” application is selected which can be accessed across the globe.
  • The application will be supported by industry standard browser i.e. Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Chrome.
  • The updated Alumni details will be uploaded by ISBAA into the application.
  • ISBAA to send e-mails to alumni seeking nominations, manifestos, and information as required.
  • The manifestos of the candidate will be uploaded in the application as per the schedule.

Process to be followed during the elections

  • ISBAA to send emails to all eligible alumni, announcing the opening of the e-voting window and giving the detailed procedure to conduct the e-voting
  • The voters can view their Chapter candidate manifesto in the unique link sent to his/her ISB email ID and cast their vote(s).

Post-election process

  • The data on the votes casted per candidate will be captured by the software and a report of the total votes cast will be prepared and issued by the Scrutinizers i.e., R & A Associates, Company Secretaries as per the schedule.
  • Announcement of results to alumni by ISBAA
  • For the President position, the candidate must complete 3 years after their graduation
  • The member should have paid their Membership fees and shall not have any due or arrears in respect of contribution to ISBAA.
  • The member should not be convicted for an offense involving moral turpitude.
  • The member should not have committed any act that is nature of demeaning ISBAA.
  • All graduated classes including PGP, PGPMAX, PGPMFAB and PGPPro and shall be the Member of ISBAA.
  • The member should have paid their Membership fees and shall not have any due or arrears in respect of contribution to ISBAA.
  • The member should not be convicted for an offense involving moral turpitude.
  • The member should not have committed any act that is nature of demeaning ISBAA.
  • Graduated class of PGPMAX and shall be the Member of ISBAA.
  • The member should have paid their Membership fees and shall not have any due or arrears in respect of contribution to ISBAA.

  • Graduated class of PGPMFAB and shall be the Member of ISBAA.

  • Graduated class of PGPPro and shall be the Member of ISBAA.

  • The cut-off date for determining the members who are eligible for filing nominations or voting in the Chapter Election 2024 is 05th January, 2024.
  • No, only those persons, who are Alumni members as on the cut-off date i.e., 05th January, 2024 are eligible for filing nominations or voting in the Chapter Election 2024.
  • The candidate shall submit their Manifesto in the format attached in the nomination form.
  • Alumni members shall use their ISB email address for filing their nomination forms. Incase, due to some issue you apply with your personal email id, please drop in an email to chapterelections@isbalum.org
  • Candidates belonging to the respective chapter can give their nomination for election of the respective Primary Chapter only.
  • Members belonging to the respective chapter shall be entitled to vote in the election of the respective Primary Chapter only.
  • Yes, Candidates have an option to apply for nominations for multiple positions. In case, such a candidate gets the maximum votes in two or more positions, then the Candidate shall choose only one position and the candidate(s) who gets the second maximum votes for such position(s) which is not being chosen by the previous candidate will be declared elected.
  • No, voting will not be conducted in case the nominations from the members are received less than the required positions. Incase, only one nomination comes in for Chapter President and reserved positions, the candidate will be selected without voting. For Chapter leaders, in case nominations are less than posts for the chapter, leaders will be selected without voting.
  • Yes, the candidate’s can cast vote for himself /herself for the required position.
  • No, the members will not be able to access the voting link sent to them after the voting time period ends, they are allowed to vote only during the time provided to them.
  • A member who does not wish to vote any position, he/she may choose to abstain from voting
  • In the event of a tie of votes between two or more candidates, the Senate Members may decide on the election of candidates by draw of lots in the presence of any two office bearers of the ISBAA, Scrutinizer and such candidates.
